Field Training

Over the weekend I took all three dogs out to the Pardo Dog Training Center for our first field day. The training was put on by the Labrador Retriever Club of Southern California. All the dogs were in the "puppy" group. Sammy and Barley did not understand what I wanted them to do with the bird. Barley mouthed it a few times, but Sammy wanted nothing to do with. Mira though was all about it, and brought it back to me on leash a few times. Sammy and Barley were happy to retrieve bumpers from land and water, but we still need to refine the whole "retrieve to hand" thing. Mira did a bit of retrieving but still is not really intersted in swimming. She would wade into the water and get the bumper though. Below are some pictures, someone from the Lab Club took them, they are great! None of Sammy and Barley, but I guess beggers cannot be choosers!!
