GRCA 2010 National Specialty
Sept - Oct, 2010

Our first trip to the GRCA National was simply amazing. I could not have hoped for a better trip. Had a great time with old friends and met lots of wonderful new people. I caravaned there with two other friends and we had a combined total of 8 Goldens from 10 months to 12 years old! It took us two days to drive each way, and all eight dogs and three people shared a hotel room on the way there and back!

Our first destination was Golden, CO, where we entered in one day of agility. We were not the only people with this idea, and Goldens took over the trial! It was so much fun, we had 17 Goldens from So Cal there, and took up an entire corner. The field and weather were wonderful. Mira and Barley both had a great showing earning double-q's and Mira got a 4th place in the JWW class. Her jumpers run was beautiful, click here to watch. The following day stopped to watch the field trial, then made our way to Greeley, CO.

The first two days in Greeley were busy with agility and the CCA. It seemed like we were non-stop. Barley picked up another 2 double-q's! Mira ran fantastic, but only got one leg each day. Day 1 she dropped a bar in JWW and on day 2 we were running for broke and missed a contact (I was not stopping her) She did earn a 4th place in JWW at the National! After agility Mira was entered in the CCA. It really is an educational experience, and I am happy to say Mira passed under all three evaluators!!

The next few days were Rally and Obedience. I had Mira entered in Novice A Rally, Team Rally and Beginner Novice Obedience. We just recently started doing some obedience training, and I was very proud of Mira in the ring! She qualified in all three, our team got first place and she got a second in Beginner Novice. A big thank you to our wonderful friends who have been so supportive helping me train and sharing tips and tricks. Looks like we will have to continue training and see where it takes it takes us!!

After a few days off (much needed!) we were entered in the WC, where Mira passed with flying colors. I am thrilled to say that because we completed and qualified in performance, conformation and field Mira will receive a GRCA Triathlon Award!!

Also when she passed the CCA, she added another GRCA title, VC (Versatility Certificate)!!!! I am so proud and thrilled with how well my little girl did! She is my little star! Also proud of Barley, he was flawless!

The National would have never been the same without all of the wonderful people who traveled to Colorado from So Cal. I am glad I have such wonderful friends! We had a great time and made memories that will last forever. Thank you!
